Most places are in Telegraph Hill, a quiet, leafy enclave and conservation area within New X Gate. The Hill boasts two parks (with tennis courts, ponds, far-reaching views), a woodland nature reserve, fine Victorian architecture and wide tree-lined avenues (with unrestricted parking). Goldsmith's college & gallery is nearby as are various cafes, shops, take-aways, a Sainsbury's and a number of venues hosting live music. Telegraph Hill is conveniently situated less than 4 miles from central London (City & West End) and 2 miles from historic Greenwich with its markets, park, riverside, museums, cinema & theatres. It is a short walk to New Cross Gate BR station & tube (Zone 2) on the East London Line giving good access to Shoreditch (Brick Lane, Spitalfields); trains cover Kent, Sussex & South London reaching Charing Cross in 15 minutes.
