"Housing with a Heart"
The Manna House is an ethical initiative specialising in offering rental accommodation. The prime intention is to encourage, promote and support individuals, groups and companies in the raising of Consciousness (i.e. increasing awareness of sustainable, healthy and compassionate lifestyles and diet).
A foremost concern is the provision of quality AND affordable housing : 'quality' so that the environment is conducive to a healing path; 'affordable' so that people are not obliged to work too hard thus allowing devotion of some time to voluntary, creative, healing or spiritual pursuits.
The Manna House covers the range of accommodation from single/double rooms & bedsits in large shared dwellings to self-contained studios, flats & houses. The ultimate purpose is the establishment of informal "Conscious Communities" - having housemates or near neighbours interested in or following more conscientious paths creates a supportive environment aiding personal growth & change.
Additionally, there are plans for the creation of a community centre (to be known as "The Re-Genesis Centre") where residents - and any others - may gather for a variety of events from meditation & yoga to conscious dance & performance. As well as having educational & entertainment roles, this would serve on a social level to counteract the isolation and alienation often experienced by those pursuing more extreme lifestyles or otherwise encountered in a large metropolis such as London (this is especially true for foreigners and those originally from outside the capital).
Accommodation is offered primarily to non-smokers, meditators, vegetarians, vegans & raw/live-foodists. All accommodation is strictly non-smoking with shared kitchens being exclusively vegetarian. Property is located in leafy, peaceful locations allowing the practice of meditation within the otherwise often challenging busy-ness, noise and stress of London.
